We have had such a fantastic year.  I am so thankful for each of your children, and I am also thankful for your support and love throughout the year!  The last day of preschool is Wednesday, May 21.

Join us for "Popsicles at the Park" on Thursday, May 22 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Laurel Park.  Just to clarify, if your child would like to come and play on this day, a parent, grandparent, etc. needs to be in attendance the entire time your child is at the park.  Come and play with your preschool friends and enjoy some yummy popsicles to kick off the summer!

Welcome to the Preschool Gym where workouts look much harder than they are.

Now that we are comfortable with the pool noodles, the children are using them to enhance their play!

Fun with the magna tiles!

Some of the friends played the new game from yesterday!  They used the blocks and ramps to roll cars into the circle! They were giving pointers to each other as they played.
"Use the wall so your arm does not get tired."
"Roll it fast so it pops right in."

During morning meeting, we worked collaboratively to tell a story.  Each friend added a part to our story.  This activity promotes language development, creativity, and collaboration.

During small group time we reviewed patterns! The children expanded their knowledge of patters.  Rather than patterning only by color, the children chose other attributes for their patterns.  For example, front and back, small and big, etc.

We then wrote and illustrated a collaborative story! We took turns each telling a page if the story, and  then we illustrated our page.  We combined the pages together to make some pretty great books!  (You can read the books below. :) )

Here are the stories! (Captions of the words can be found above the picture)

The Knight Leaves, bear Book, and Superman Saves the Day
Authors and Illustrators: Bella, Andrew, Jacob, Blake, Claire, Alma, Devereux

Once upon a time, there was a bear.  It was a BIG BEAR!

There was a knight in shining armor.  He killed the bear.

There's 20 and thousand elephants.  They were knight elephants with tusks.  They got the bears.

There is 200 a thousand lions.  There was a king coming.  The king had a sword and killed the lions.

100 bears came.  Then 100 knights came with 109 swords and poked the bears.

There was another bear.  The bear brought more bears.  There was a tiger by him, and the bear ran away.

Lots more bears came.  Some people came.  They stayed alive.  They killed the bears.  Two lions came and helped the people kill the bears.

The knight and the king ran away to the forest.  Superman came and saved the day.

The Little Girl, The Good Lion, and the Bad Bear

Authors and Illustrators: Sammie, Hunter, Megan, Joey, Avery, and Ethan

One time there was a little girl.  She walked down the road.

She fell and tripped and went to her castle.  She tried to sleep at night, but she couldn't.  She has bad dreams.

A lion came in there- he's a pet lion.  he was nice.  He let the brother ride his back.  He always hunts for food.

A bear came.  It was a bad bear.  It killed the lion.  He tried to fight the girl.

The king will save her!

He will use his sword!

The bear will light on fire.  They ran to the top and jumped in the pool.  The End.

During Jesus time, we learned about the Fruits of the Spirit.  Galatians 5:22-23 " But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

The Holy Spirit grows faith in our hearts and because of our faith, we have the fruits of the Spirit!  We praise Jesus for the gift of faith by His death and resurrection!
