Happy Week of the Young Child!! During this week, we celebrate the blessing of young children, especially all of the young children here at Zion! As part of the celebration, there will be optional dress-up days this week. These days are listed below:
Wednesday: Spirit Day-Wear red or white or Zion wear
Thursday: Stripes Day
Friday: Mismatched Day
We have had such a fantastic year. I am so thankful for each of your children, and I am also thankful for your support and love throughout the year! The last day of preschool is Wednesday, May 21.
Join us for "Popsicles at the Park" on Thursday, May 22 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Laurel Park. Just to clarify, if your child would like to come and play on this day, a parent, grandparent, etc. needs to be in attendance the entire time your child is at the park. Come and play with your preschool friends and enjoy some yummy popsicles to kick off the summer!
Our friends were very excited to see a new again center today! We created with bamboo sticks and pool noodles! We were sure to be careful to not poke ourselves or our friends! This activity promotes fine motor growth and creative thinking.
We were also excited to have the magna tiles back in our room!
Our friends have been interested in learning some Spanish words, so we read a book in Spanish! I taught the friends a few Spanish words. Because the friends were very interested in learning more Spanish, we will continue to learn more words during these last few weeks of school.
We also had a special in-house field trip today! The Botanical Gardens came to visit us!
We learned all about our five senses!
We read a book about our five senses.
We sang a song about our five senses too!
We then used four of our senses (no tasting this time :) ) to explore various plants from the Botanical Gardens!
The fun didn't end there; we then planted our own seeds! Look for your child's plant coming home today!
We also worked on our own plant journal!
In celebration of the Week of the Young child, we celebrated the children in our class with popsicles! What a blessing these children are!
During Jesus time, we read the story of Pentecost. We noticed that the people in the story spoke different languages, just like the Spanish book we read at morning meeting. We learned that the languages split so the people could tell everyone about Jesus' love. He loves us so much that He died on the cross and rose again to save us from our sins! We learned that one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is Baptism. If your child is not baptized, we would love to have him/her baptized here at Zion! Please contact me for more information.
