Today we celebrate Violet and Zack!  We thank God for bringing Violet and Zack to our school!
Happy Birthday Violet and Zack

This morning, all of our puzzles fell on the floor!  Our friends showed God's love and helped to put them back together.  :)

We also used the estimation jar as our check in today.  This helps the children not only practice writing their names, but it also helps the children practice counting, one to one correspondence, number recognition, and of course estimation!

We love the new classroom arrangement!!

The friends worked together cooperatively this morning.  Learning cooperation and how to problem solve together is a social skill that will benefit the children throughout their lives!

We love our outside time! Large motor growth increases cognitive development!

During small group time, we continued our exploration of shapes with the Geoboards. The children worked to makes various shapes on the boards and describe how they made them.  This increases spatial reasoning and shape recognition.

Our Principal, Mr. Debrick, stopped by today!  The children love Mr. Debrick!

We started Phase One of our Castle Project today!  The focus of Phase One of a Project is to engage the children's prior knowledge about the topic.  This serves a two fold purpose.  Once the children share what they know, we can better understand how to best scaffold student learning next.  Secondly, we are able to identify any misconceptions about the topic that need to be addressed throughout the Project.

We started webbing what we know about castles and what we want to learn about castles.  We will use this web to not only see what the children have learned throughout the Project, but also to guide our learning throughout the project!

We also practiced writing words in our journals with Ms. Emma.

The Magic House came to visit today!
The Magic House focused on the math vocabulary words:  small, medium, large.
They listened to a story about Clifford and then sorted objects based on sizes.

During Jesus time we learned that Jesus healed ten sick men.  We also learned that Jesus healed us from our sickness of sin even though we didn't deserve it.  The children each got a sticker today to remind them that even though we don't deserve God's grace and forgiveness, He gives it to us anyway!
