Happy Friday!
We had a great day in preschool!
This morning during free choice, the friends once again engaged in mature play. Children engaged in mature play work to plan their play.
For example, when children are engaged in mature play they will say things like:
"Pretend you were angry and walked away."
"When you woke up, you couldn't find us."
"Then you said, 'I am not a pirate! I am a dog!'"
Fun times in the commons!
During free choice time, we practiced making patterns! Some of the friends created their own pattern, some finished a pattern, and some copied a pattern.
We also played a rhyming game!
We practiced handwriting without tears verbiage as we described the wood pieces we used to make letters and other creations.
During second free choice time, the children were excited to see some new blocks to use in the block center! They got straight to work creating and working together.
We also worked to take down our Christmas items since Sunday is Epiphany. :)
We set up the kitchen in the dramatic play center. The children were very excited to play in the kitchen!
During Jesus time, we learned the story of Jesus teaching in the temple found in Luke 2:41-52. We learned that sometimes we don't want to study God's word. However, the bible is God's word and give us knowledge of salvation, telling us that Jesus is our Savior! Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we can grow in our desire to learn about Jesus!
