Although it was rainy most of the day, we still had a great day in preschool!
Check out what we did today!
We were visited by 6th grade Student Council members who talked with us about ways to keep our bodies healthy! We discussed some different healthy foods that we like to eat. Through this presentation, the children were able to learn healthy living habits!
We then went to the gym! We had fun playing Mr. Fox Mr. Fox and Moses Moses. Through these games the children are not only developing large motor skills, they are also practicing concepts such as one to one correspondence, counting, and positive social skills!
After gym, we went to chapel. In chapel, Pastor Reitz read us a story and talked to us about how nothing we do can stop God from loving us!
We played in the pumpkin patch again today! Through our play we are learning valuable social skills such as sharing, using kind words, and working together.
Some of our friends graphed different classroom items and analyzed the graph! They are practicing foundational math skills!
We used our senses to explore in the sensory table. The children used tweezers to find hidden plastic animals and bugs. They were not only developing fine motor skills, but also working together!
We continued to work on our painted jack-o-lantern today. Each child painted a large sheet of paper orange and another paper black.
The children then drew a circle on the back of the orange paper and cut it out. They used this circle for the pumpkin.
The children whose black painted paper was dry cut out face shapes and glued them on the pumpkin.
Here are a few of the children's completed works!
Through this activity, the children are refining fine motor skills, recognizing, identifying, and creating various shapes, and using their creativity! Furthermore, they are learning that art is a process.
We also graphed some of the leaves we collected yesterday. We discussed that we put one leaf in one box, which will help the children with one to one correspondence. We analyzed the graph by counting to see which had more, less, and if any were equal. As the children read the graph they are learning foundational math skills!
