Happy Wednesday!  We had a great day in school!!

Each morning, the children sign their name "check-in" to school.  This is a great time to practice writing skills with each child individually.

During morning free choice, some friends played, "Going to bed."

Other friend explored and created with the magna tiles and LEGOs.

Hunter worked to complete various puzzles.  He is strengthening his spatial relationship and problem solving skills.

Joey noticed that some of the Handwriting without Tears magnets can be put together to make letters!  We decided that we would explore this further!!

Bryson and Zack weighed the dice together.

It was then time to go outside!  Even though it was hot, we had a lot of fun running and playing together!  (We are so thankful for our very cool classroom!!)

During small group time, we explored the Handwriting Without Tears wood pieces. Some children made letters, some children made creations.  Either way, as the children explore the straight and curvy lines, they are exploring the smaller parts used to write letters.  Learning about these parts will help the children as they write!

We also worked collaboratively on a classroom canvas painting! Check out the finished product hanging in our classroom!

We put what we learned about lines and curves into practice as we wrote in our journals.

"Look!  I wrote two big curves!"
"I wrote small straight lines!"

Remember how excited we were about the exit signs?  Today we capitalized on our excitement by counting how many exit signs there are in our school!

Each child had a clip board and a number chart.  As we saw an exit sign, we marked off the next number.

Just as each child is unique, success for each child is also unique.  In this activity, success for some children is using one to one correspondence as we count the numbers on the page.  Success for some children is recognizing the numbers.  Success for some children is naming what number comes next.

In this activity, we practiced counting, one to one correspondence, and number recognition!

Look for a documentation board coming soon with all of our hard work!  :)

During out second free choice, the children worked together cooperatively.  We are practicing our social skills!!

During Jesus time, we read the story of creation.  Our God is powerful!!  He created everything!  He also sent His son, Jesus, to die on the cross and rise again to save us from our sins!!

We then went to the gym! We had a blast running and playing together!
