Classroom Jobs
Classroom Jobs
Your
child will have an opportunity to be a classroom helper many times throughout
the year. The classroom helpers
are chosen at random; the classroom helper board is displayed in the classroom. Classroom jobs allow the children to
take ownership of the classroom.
The children are also learning about responsibility and leadership.

Classroom Management
Mrs. Douglas Classroom
Management
I
use consistent routines, clear expectations, positive re-enforcement, and
redirection in the classroom as the main tools of classroom management.
Student Expectations:
1. Follow directions.
2. Keep hands and feet to yourself.
3. Use kind words
when speaking.
4. Love your friends
Occasionally,
children will make the wrong choice. It is part of the learning process! Individual
situations are dealt with as needed with the purpose of enabling the child to
grow and learn from his or her actions.
Teacher Responses:
1. When a problem
situation arises, I will respond without anger, proceeding with the best
interest of the child.
2. Consequences are
provided not to punish, humiliate, or demean a child, but to allow the child to
experience the results of a poor choice.
This will enable him or her to make better choices in the future.
3. Every child is
different. Consequences will be designed to fit the needs of individual
students.

Welcome!
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Zion Lutheran Preschool! My name is Tracie Douglas and I am excited to be your child’s teacher this year! I graduated from Concordia Chicago in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a concentration in Spanish. I have been teaching preschool for the last four years; teaching children is my passion!

I have two children, Isaac (2) and Levi (9 months). My husband, Matt, will be starting his first year at Concordia Seminary in the fall. We recently moved to the St. Louis area from Nebraska. I grew up in Tennessee, and I am a huge University of Tennessee football fan. I enjoy playing my guitar, sewing, reading, camping, and of course teaching!
I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach your children! I am also excited to build a partnership with you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We are going to have a great year!
In Christ,
Tracie Douglas
